Government of India is hosting the 30th Antarctic
Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM) at New Delhi. The meeting was inaugurated by Shri Kapil Sibal, Hon’ble Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences on 30th April, 2007.This
meeting is being held for the first time in India in the
25th year of its joining the Antarctic Treaty. Year 2007
being the
International Polar Year
is lending a special flavour to this meeting
for which a tremendous momentum has already been generated
during the 29th ATCM at Edinburgh.
The Antarctic
Treaty Secretariat site will be providing the necessary pre meeting support especially compilation
of Working and Information Papers. |
